On Monday, the kids started their new school year. None of us were ready to let go of summer, but we didn’t have much choice. This guy is now in 9th grade. How did that happen?? He is just months from getting his drivers learners permit. He keeps asking when I am going to start teaching him to drive since I started teaching his brother at 14. I guess I better get on that. Finding time seems to be the hardest part! Anyway… he was pretty nervous about starting high school. It is a pretty large school. Their are over 700 in his freshmen class alone. It was so strange to see him ride off to school with Logan.
This guy, who likes to do these weird poses whenever I want to take his picture, is in the 12th grade now. That means he is a SENIOR. I am still trying to wrap my brain around that one. He got all of the classes that he requested. I think that’s a first. Hopefully it will be an awesome senior year!
When it comes to clothes, Logan has a great sense of style. When we were out shopping the other day, he picked up these Marvel Vans. I love them!! Don’t they look awesome?! Sadly, they left horribly painful blisters on the first day. They will get better, just need to break them in a little slower.
I am so lucky to be a mom to these two smart and handsome young men.
This sweet girl is now in 6th grade. I have to admit that I have been a bit nervous about her being in middle school. She’s our baby girl. While it is awesome with boys, I think it’s TOUGH with girls. Just so much girl drama. I can’t stand that stuff. This sweet girl really takes EVERYTHING to heart which makes this momma’s heart really sad a lot. I just can’t stand mean girls.
She was excited about middle school and scared to death at the same time. Would she be able to find all her classes? Where would her locker be? Would she have time to go there between classes? Who would be in her classes? Who would she get for teachers? We were relieved to know that she had a really great homeroom teacher (that Noah had before also). As luck would have it, she arrived on the first day and they had changed her homeroom teacher. We were both sad, but she does like her new one so it’s all ok.
I had to take a picture of her watch because she had been wanting a new one for quite some time and she fell in love with this one.
There were a few tears shed at the end of the first day, but overall it was good. The boys both had good first days. They like their teachers and all seemed to go well. Hopefully that trend will continue!
